E-Live 1998

On the 17th of October 1998 Ron, Kees, Harold and Eric performed at the E-Live festival in 'De Vereeniging' in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. It was an overwhelming concert where they played a lot of material from Ron's new album Tainted Bare Skin in addition to two pieces from Eric's, long-awaited, beautiful second album Da Capo. About 900 visitors saw the concert.

The festival became extra special because no-one less than Sir Paul McCartney attended. Here's the story:
As organisors we knew that a V.I.P. would attend. He would land with his private plane (!) in Maastricht or Rotterdam, and then drive to Nijmegen by limousine. The day before a taxi from Amsterdam had already collected the E-Live tickets at my home. However we still don't know who to expect, so you can imagine the look on my face when I opened the artist entrance door at night and saw who it was.
Paul, accompanied by his son, daughter and boyfriend, asked to be left alone, no photos, no autographs. He just wanted to sit in the audience with his children, and listen to the concert of John Dyson (John was pretty nervous when he heard just before the concert who has come to listen to him). So we gave Paul a chair, something to drink and left him alone. But there are always people that are unable to respect someone's privacy. So after a woman made photos, and people started to talk with him (despite the fact that I asked them NOT to), he decided to leave. I did ask him if he wanted to perform at E-Live '99. Paul just smiled...
