VIP Days X-Mas Edition 2009 3 days of poker
DAY 1 - € 220 HE NL Freeze Out
I ended 112th in the first event. The key hand was a major pot of 8000 points (we started with 3000). I had the nut flush draw and decided to call. In hindsight maybe not so smart. After that I lost a coinflip AK against 55. With the remaining 640 points I managed to come back to 2000 points, but then a bluf failed and I was back at the rail.
DAY 2 - € 330 HE NL Freeze Out
I started the second day very strong. Within an hour I managed to double my starting stack to 6500 points so I was hoping that this was finally gonna be my day. But again it wasn't meant to be. On a board 7♦T♦9♠9♣, while was helding 6♦9♦, my opponent with J♦J♣, decided to push all-in. Music to my ears as I was an 88% favorite that moment. But it wasn't to be. The river was a J!! So I was back to 2500 something points. Maybe it was mentally but after that nothing went my way anymore, and within an hour the rest of my chips were gone.
DAY 3 - € 1050 Main event HE NL Freeze Out
Third day.. Talk about being card-dead! We started with 10.000 chips and blind levels of 40 minutes, so an excellent structure. I played very few hands but still my stack went down to 6.5K as the few hands I played didn't connect with the flop. But then... after the diner break I finally hit big time. I raised with JT and the board came JJT... Full house... Bingo! I did what I could to keep customers, which worked, and after this hand I had a healthy 12K while the average was 11K at that moment. Unfortunately I immediately went back in card-dead mode so after a few hours I only had 15BB. Around that time I found KQ, (which looked like a monster when you have been card-dead for so long), only to run into AK. So exit for me.
