Last weekend I played the Main Event in HC Venlo. I made a great bluff, at least that's what I thought at the time, and got called by the hand I tried to represent. A few weeks earlier I played in HC Rotterdam and got pretty deep. I ended 20th. So for now it's back to work. The only poker I frequently play is on Monday night in HC Utrecht. That's the € 50 rebuy. So far with little success, although I did win it once.
Coming events I plan to play are in HC Enschede. I haven't decided which games yet, and HC Valkenburg where I want to play all 4 events.
March
Busy, busy, busy! But with the current economy I'm glad that's the case. The application is getting along very nicely but it will take at least 2 months before it's finished. So in the meantime there's not much time for poker. But I intend to play some events in future in Holland Casino. If something special happens there, you will certainly read about it here. Till then, keep breathing...
February
Just scored a major order for a complete Inventory Management System. Excellent news for our company but bad news for the app I was developing. That has to be patient for at least 3 more months, and maybe even longer.
January
I played 3 days of poker in Utrecht. None of them with any success. The deepest I got was in the 1080fo where I ended 32nd. That day all went pretty well but I lost a crucial hand with KK against A4. 4 on flop and 4 on turn. Luckely the cash games went well so at the end I broke even. So for now it's back to working on my app.
January
I've started to work on an app. It's a game intended for iPhone, iPad and such. The first weeks I spent to learn the new language. It wasn't easy but it was fun to be a programmer again. Something I always loved to do. It's a work in progress meaning that there's a general game concept but with still plenty of room to add things. I hope to have the game in the app store in 3-6 months, and I`lll keep you posted here.
I haven`t played poker much because of the app, but I intend to play some events at the Utrecht series of poker (previously Dom Classics). I`ve bought a ticket for the satelite to the 2k main event. Haven`t decided what to play more yet.

Health and Happiness for 2013
2012
December
On December 28th I played the 330fo, and on December 29th the 770fo, both in Valkenburg, The Netherlands. I busted early in the 330 but ended 18th in the 770fo. Although it was just outside the money, I was still satisfied with my performance as I was short all day but still managed to stay alive. I finally lost with AK against KK, preflop all-in.
November
On November 21st I played the €550 fo in Nijmegen and ended 24th (13 itm). It went fine all day, never was short on chips, but at the end I lost with queens from aces (preflop all-in).
November
I failed in the satelite for the Dutch Open, and as only the top 100 was allowed to directly buy-in (I was 102), it was over. Also nothing special in the MCOP €1590 FO. It was the usual 'yoyo-ing'. From 15k to 8k to 18k to 12k and out. I did manage to win a ticket for the main event in the satelite. But the main event itself was no success. After 5 hours of play I raised with A♠Q♠, got called, and got the flop A♣8♠9♠. Villain checked, I bet, he raised, I reraised, he rereraised, and I went allin. He called with A♦7♥, and unfortunately I got no help. The €825 was a rollercoaster, from 8k to 1650-13k-1475-26k-out, and Sunday the €330 was a complete crapshoot. Every minute a player was eliminated. It had little to do with poker. Luckily I had an excellent cash session afterwards.
October
The next events I'm playing is a satellite for the Dutch Open on October 23rd, a satellite for the MCOP Main Event on November 6th, and the €300 speed event on November 10th, all in Amsterdam.
October
Had a great 4 days in Valkenburg. Lots of laughs, and I also helped the crew of Pokercity with some live commentary. Especially the final table of the main event was a real thriller! The 3 tournaments I played all ended with nothing. Not one time could I get things started, and my current `jojo` performances continued. Luckily there's always the cash table(s), which made it all free, and even returned some pocket money.
September
No luck in main event Scheveningen. The playable hands I got didn't connect with the board, and the best hand AK lost the coinflip against QQ. Well, these things happen. Next up is HC Valkenburg at the end of the month.
August
I just booked tickets for HC Scheveningen ME on Sept 14th, and 3 tournaments in HC Valkenburg (550, 330, 1080) on Sept 27-29th.
July
Spent 3 weeks in Vegas but now I'm back for a week. I've already played two home games, which I both won, so apparently I've learned something in Vegas. At the end of August I will spent a week in Spain, visiting my mother, but also playing in the local casino(s). After that my plan is to play some tournaments in Holland Casino. Certain is Valkenburg, likely is Scheveningen, and uncertain is Breda. I'll keep you all posted.
July
Event #54 was quite uneventful so I decided to play next day's $1500 and this went much better. Within 2 hours my starting stack of 4500 was up to 17k, and the following levels also went well. Unfortunately I lost almost all my stack in a pot against Daniel Negreanu. He opened with AJ, I reraised with AK, and we saw an Axx flop. I bet, he calls. Turn J With 3bb left I tripled in a 3-way pot with 45s against TT and KK. And after another double I managed to get to day 2. When 8 players were eliminated I was itm, but with hardly any playable hands I struggled to stay in the tournament. Then, with 111 players left, I decided to make a move. Utg had opened (nothing special), when another player said raise and threw in a 5k chip. He hadn't seen the first raise. Of course much confusion: was it a raise, if yes how much? So the brush was called who eventually decided to a minraise. With all that hassle I hoped to pick up the pot with my last 12bb, and pushed with J9. The first opener had AK so he also went all-in, so now headsup, I knew I had to be lucky. Window card J, followed by a K So, that was it. I ended #111.
June
Las Vegas here I come! I will play event #54 and #59, both $1000 events, during the WSOP. I'm leaving at the end of this month.
May
Today I have played the €330 bounty in Enschede. I won one bounty and then ran into AA with AK and it was over.
May
Wow, I reached another final table! This time in the €110 rebuy in HC Enschede. I became 3rd of 118 players. The whole day I played well, so I'm extremely pleased with this result. It's clear to me that now my physical problems are gone I can really compete in this kind of tournaments. Pokercity didn't cover this tournament, but there's a YouTube video of my entrance to the final table.
May
Today I've played the €550 team event in Enschede with Farit. I didn't get any playable hands so I basically folded in all 4 levels of Hold'em. My partner on the other hand went from 10k to 8k to 24k to 15k to zero in the PLO part. As I don't play PLO I can't comment on any of his plays, but I hope that at least he had fun! :)
May
I've added details and photos of the €330 FO and main event in Valkenburg. Also added are Nijmegen and Rotterdam of April 2012. Two new photos of 2012, and one photo of 1978 have been added to the Around the world webpage. My cd Slices of Time has a new review (in Dutch).
May
I reached the final table of the main event and ended third. I'm very content. It was about time that I had a good tournament result!
May
The €220 was a disappointment but I did very well in €330fo where I ended 7th. I lost a pretty crucial hand, 66 against 67, when the flop was 772. After that I had to shove with A2, and got called by KK, no help. But I`m glad with my overal play, and that`s what matters. Tomorrow is the main event. Let`s try to win that.
April
I ended 15th in the Nijmegen ME (13 in the money) and I had to work hard all day to get there. All my big hands didn't get paid, so I had to get my chips with creative playing, and that went pretty good. Until the end when I lost a crucial coin flip, J9 against A3. After that lost hand I had to push all-in and it was over. All in all I was content with my play. Let's hope next month's Valkenburg is a *real* winner.
April
I just booked tickets for the 550fo on April 25 in HC Nijmegen. A casino I've never been before. I've also booked HC Valkenburg for May 10-12 (220/330/770).
April
Yesterday I played the 550fo in HC Rotterdam. Unfortunately without result because in the 3rd level this happened: Someone opens with 350, sb calls, I (bb) raise to 1050 with A♥Q♥, sb calls. Flop 6♠7♠J♥. I bet 1300, sb calls. Turn A♣. I bet 2300 (with 2100 behind), sb calls (for half her stack). River 5♠. sb immediately goes all-in. I suspect AJ but can't fold anymore, so call. She shows 8♦9♦!? Cash didn't go much better. Flips aren't too bad but I seem to loose all 70-30 and 80-20's currently.
April
The main event was a disappointment too. After 2,5 hours of patient play I was up to 16k when I lost 12k when I hit trips on the flop, and someone hit his flush on the river. I came back to 6k but lost with AK against 99, and 88 against JQ. Game over. I managed to win some money in the cash game, but the feeling remains that with some luck/flips on my site, I could have come far.
March
No result in €330fo either. Lost 1k of my 5k starting stack to a 3-outer, and the rest with J8, flop AJ8, turn T, he plays QK.
March
No success in the €220 fo in HC Venlo. My plan was to take it easy and wait for good hands but somehow I got involved in 2 pots that took 60% of my 5k starting stack. Finally I squeezed with 57off for 8bb and got an instant call from a guy with 33. No help from the board so day 1 was over. I played some cash afterwards with no result. I stopped early as I got annoyed from a dealster who took 40+ seconds to deal every hand. Boring, and as a result the table brook up early.
February
I just booked tickets for the HC Venlo series that start on March 29. I will play all 4 events.
February
So far this year has passed with working on new websites and applications. So no poker tournaments, just the occasional home game. I hope to play some HC Venlo tournaments in March but I haven't booked anything yet.
January
The best wishes to everybody for 2012! health ~ happiness ~ love.
2011
December
Had the final kidney check-up last week and I'm officially declared `healthy` . The doctor did warn me to be careful with a.o. tea, canned food, and to drink a lot. After a year I have to report back for a new check. I'm very glad this is all behind me for now. I now also realize that this had way more affect on my poker game than I thought. I played a few live games this month and I noticed that 1) my confidence is back, 2) I play more aggressive, 3) I accept bad beats easier, and 4) my bankroll is up. Great. The next big live event will probably be the Dom Classics in Utrecht at the end of January.
So for now it's back to website and applications building, and enjoying the holidays. I wish you happy holidays and a very nice 2012! Thanks for reading.
November
The MCOP in Amsterdam is over. I played 3 events and never had the feeling that I could make something happening. Like the song from Traffic: no face, no name, no number. In poker terms it was: no hits, no draws, no connection. Full details are in my MCOP report.
November
It's getting better all the time so I've decided to play the satellite for the main event of the MCOP in Amsterdam on November 8th. And I will play the Main Event regardless of whether I win or lose the satellite. In both cases I will sell at least 50% and will play.
October
One day after my kidney stones operation. The operation was not as bad as I expected. At the last moment I decided to go for a partial anaesthetic and I'm glad I did that. During the operation I listened to the Stones (no pun intended) twice as the operation took more than an hour, and I could talk with the anesthetist and ask for extra anesthetic when my back *really* started to hurt. But today is not a good day to say it mildly Wow! I will spare you the details but I'm sure every guy knows how it feels...
October
Not much poker or anything else for that matter. For the last month I'm suffering from kidney stones (again). It's one stone of 2mm and one of 8(!)mm. And as both refuse to leave my body the "normal" way I'll have to be operated in 2 weeks. During that time I have to take medication to give my body a last chance.
September
Couldn't make it to Valkenburg either. My health didn't allow it. A real shame as the last time I ended 3x in the money in 3 tournaments. Plus I also like Valkenburg a lot. Nice people, nice atmosphere. Oh well, that's life. Maybe next time.
September
I've decided to skip the Scheveningen tournaments. I'm currently running bad so I prefer to wait until the end of the month and play Valkenburg. I like Valkenburg better plus I can combine it with a small holiday.
August
I updated my website with the poker events of the last half year. Amongst them was my WSOP 2011 participation. Beside the main event it also contains photos and YouTube movies of my stay in Las Vegas.
July
I appear in Poker Inside from pokercity, live from Las Vegas.
The couch discussion starts around 20:13, I tell about my exit hand from the main event around 32:30.
July
Unfortunately I was out after 5 hours. In short: cutoff opens again, he has 60k and became more and more agressive; I find 8♣9♣, flop is 5♠7♣Q♣; he cbets 1/2 pot; I minraise; he makes 3x my bet (around 10k); I shove (around 20k); hij calls with A♣2♣; no help. But luckily there are still enough cash games available. I played twice in the Wynn with excellent result, so our stay here will remain pleasant.
July
Arrived in Las Vegas. Did an interview with Pokercity, took a look in the WSOP hall, and played cash in the Wynn with good result.
July
Leaving Dallas for Las Vegas. Sunday I play day 1D of the WSOP main event.
July
I arrived in Dallas, TX and it's very hot here, 38+ degrees. On Pokercity is a small interview with me in Dutch.
July
I will play the Main Event No-Limit Hold'em Championship (Event #58) of the WSOP in Las Vegas. It starts on July 7th but the first day I will play is day 1D on Sunday, July the 10th. I will send updates through Twitter. Thanks for all the support and wishes. I'm looking forward to play! USA... Here I come...
June
I just won a ticket for the Main Event of the WSOP in Las Vegas after participating in a $535 satellite on Holland Poker. There is a report (in Dutch) on Pokercity.
June
I reached day 2 of the main event of the Eurogio Poker Challenge in Valkenburg. 5th in chips, 30 players left, 13 in the money. Unfortunately things didn't go my way on day 2. I first lost a 100k pot against a 1-outer, and then the rest against KK with AQ on a Q high board. So I ended 12th. Somewhat disappointing for me. But 3 cashes in 3 tournaments during an enjoyable and sunny week, not bad. :)
June
A second cash! A ended 15th in the 330FO. Let's try to reach the final table tomorrow during the main event.
June
Ended in the money, as 14th in 220FO. Came back from 1,5bb. Preflop all-in, 44 against AK. Unfortunately K on river. So good start in Valkenburg.
May
I just bought 4 tickets for HC Valkenburg. June 2nd the €220FO, June 3rd the €330FO, on the 4th the €1080 Main Event and on the 5th the €110FO.
May
I ended up with one cash in Enschede. I ended 11th in the 330FO. In the main event I was the bubble (14th). I probably could have folded myself into the money but I came to win and thus decided to coinflip the last hand. All in all I was satisfied with my performances during the week. Details and photos will follow shortly.
May
I have decided to leave Groove Unlimited, a company I owned with Ron Boots. The press information and reactions can be found on the EMPortal.
May
A week in Enschede... On Tuesday, May 10th I will play the team event in HC Enschede, on Wednesday the €330 FO, on Thursday the €550 FO, Friday (May 13) the €110 rebuy (where I ended 2nd last year), and one day later the Main Event. Finally on Sunday I will play a qualifier for the Dutch Open 2011.
April
On April 16th, Ron Boots and I (Groove Unlimited), hosted the annual E-Day music festival in Oirschot, The Netherlands. We had around 200 visitors who had a great time.
April
Sick exit in Venlo VIP days. With pocket 22 the flop comes 552. Villain bets, I shove, he calls. He has 53, turn blank, river 3
March
I will play the Main Event in Venlo on April 2nd.
March
I have become a member of the 'Raad van Advies' of the Pokerbond (all text in Dutch). Chairman is Rolf Slotboom. I'm not sure what to expect yet but if I can in some way help to promote and/or legalize poker then I'm content.
February
February 12th, HC Eindhoven (€550 NLHE): it ended after 2 hours. No draw was completed and twice I had to lay down QQ. So with 12bb left I shoved with KJ and was called with JJ.
January
Wednesday I ended 55/159 during the Dom Classics €770 event in HC Utrecht. Today I played the main event and I was out after about 2,5 hours. Again no playable hand at all, and when I tried to make a move I ran into aces.
2010
December
2010 has been an excellent year for me and I wish everybody the same for 2011!
December
I ended around 60 in the main event in Venlo on December 11th. I was a complete jojo going from a 10k starting stack to 2,5k to 13k to 790(!)chips to 28k. But at the end I took too much chance, didn't connect and went out with A8 against 99. The day after I played the €110 FO and that went very well. Making use of the 'turbo' structure of 20 mins levels and a starting stack of only 3k, I went into 'agressive' mode and tried to accumulate as many chips as soon as possible. That worked pretty good especially when I won a big pot with KJ. On a board KQTT3 (3 clubs) my opponent bet 14k making a pot of around 60k. After tanking I called and he showed AQ making me chipleader. I kept pounding and ended 2th at the end after loosing a flip with 99 against KT. Photos will follow a.s.a.p.
November
No luck at the BSOP. I started well with 13k but ran with my flopped set of threes into a flopped set of fives and lost 8k. After that I had to gamble which ended with A9 against 99.
November
The MCOP in Amsterdam is over, unfortunately with no result for me. All reports and photos are now on the Live poker page.
October
I started wel during the Dutch Open on October 15th. Within the hour I increased my stack from 10k to 15k. But after that I made a few loose calls, got caught with a bluff, and finally lost my stack with 2 pair against a straight. Looking back I think I played poorly. Luckily the 5/5 cash game afterwards went excellent. The money I won there is equal to the 13th place in the Dutch Open.
September
No results in the tournaments during the Euregio Poker Challenge in Valkenburg. However the cash tables generated enough money to break even. I also appear in the live broadcast (in Dutch) of Poker Inside, hosted by Rolf Slotboom and Nicky Roeg.
September
The next poker event I will play is the Euregio Poker Challenge 2010 in Venlo, The Netherlands. It's from September 23 till 26. I will play all events.
September
August was a bad month for poker. My bankroll went down 40%. Fortunately September started much better. In 6 days I managed to regain a third of my August loss. Talk about variance!
July
Back from HC Leeuwarden. 1st in 60 euro FO, 31 players. My wife was 2nd. Small win but heads-up against the wife is always fun! There was even a mention on Pokercity.
July
The ViP Days Holiday edition in Venlo is over. I played the €330 Freeze Out, the main event, and the €110 FO. None of them with a money result. Details and photos are available.
No luck at the main event, nor at the €330 bounty although I got 2 bounty's. Details and photos about the 4 days at the Twente Classics are HERE. Conclusion: a great week with my best result ever! WOW
May
I became 2nd at the €110 rebuy during the Twente Classics. An event I hadn't even planned to play! More details soon. For now it's a quick shower and off to play the main event.
May
On May 12th I'll be playing the Twente Classics team event with Samir Haddad. Samir is someone I met during the home games. He will take care of the Omaha part. I'm also playing the main event on May 14th. You can follow the live report and/or the live stream on www.pokercity.nl. More info about me on this website or on Twitter.
April
I've added a link to my Twitter account. It's the bird right-top.
April
Monday and Thursday I used to play poker at HC Utrecht and Leeuwarden but I've decided to stop that. The reason is their silly clothing rules. Every time I entered the casino I felt like I criminal, and that all because I'm wearing a jacket with a hood! So that's another 3 visitors gone for Thursday, and at least one for Monday/Sunday. Apparently they rather spent their money on restyling their website than making tickets available for every tournament through the website. I've said it before: HC is a company that wants to be something that they are not, and never will be. It's a matter of time before they will lose their monopoly, and will close down. A real shame for the hard working people on the floor!
March
Another sick beat, and it looks like by bad run of last year is back. Tonight the money went in with 7♣9♣ against 8♦9♦ on a flop 8♣T♣J♠. So my opponent had 2% change to win (20% to tie). But then runner J♥ and J♦ came! Unbelievable.
March
I will not play in Venlo during the VIP-Days. I'm not completely satisfied with my current poker playing (and luck ), so playing there is probably just a waste of money. For now I will keep playing on Monday evening in HC Utrecht, and some home games during the rest of the week.
February
After running bad for almost 2 months, the last 2 weeks went much better in poker. Last night I finally made some money when I ended 5th on the Monday night in Utrecht.
January
Satellite for the main event of the DOM Classics. It wasn't meant to be. With no rebuys and one add-on, I went to the dinner break with a 20K stack. But after dinner nothing went right anymore. I lost with AK from TT, and then with AK from 78. After that I called some other all-in's but somehow everything went wrong. So finally after winning some coinflips, I went all-in and lost. Oh well. At least the cash table brought me some 700+ Euro.
January
I ended #8 in the DOM Classics, Utrecht €250 Texas Hold'em, No Limit event! At the end my 99 didn't hold up against my opponent's AQ. A shame but being #8 in a field of 219 players and earning 1250 Euro is not too bad.
January
I ended 5th at the Pokerranking final table of the Monday evening. It was an interesting match. I entered as 10th in chip stack but managed to hold-on until my A4 ran into A3 with a 3 on the turn. A shame but before my AQ vs AK made a split pot so no complaints here. I went home with 910 Euro.
January
I performed in Theatre de Enck in Oirschot with Ron Boots, Harold & Eric van der Heijden, FD Projekt and Bas Broekhuis. It was a 2+ hours concert! Click on the YouTube logo to watch the video on Youtube.
I played the strangest hand ever. It happened on Full Tilt Poker. Click on the picture right and see for yourself!
January
I've become #136 in the Unibet PokerCity Player of the Year 2009. Sounds good, but I hope that 2010 is MUCH better.
January
I WISH EVERYBODY A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
2009
December
I played for 3 days during the ViP Days X-Mas Edition in Venlo. Every day there was a NLHE freeze out event.
November
Today I played the €800 NL Holdem FO poker event at the MCOP in Amsterdam. It lasted about an hour. I had K♠K♣. The flop was 6♣8♥J♠, the turn K♥ and the river a 5♥ ~ My opponent had 9♥T♥ ugh
October
I went out as 70th in the Dutch Open 2009 Poker tournament. I'm sure I could have made it to day two as on of the 54 players, but my health didn't allow it. In the morning I was already in great doubt whether to go or not, and several times during the day I wondered what I was doing there. I had a fever, was noxious, my stomach ached and I could hardly keep my eyes open at the beginning. During the dinner break I even slept for an hour in my car. So after almost 10 hours I decided to gamble: either I got a big stack and come back the day after or I would go home. I didn't want to make the trip again for maybe an hour of poker. So with KT I went all-in on a board of QJ2. The turn was a T and the river a K but unfortunately my opponent had AA and made a straight. Here are the extracts of the live report.
October
Last Sunday, October 4th, I played a satellite for the €1500 MCOP in Amsterdam. The satellite ended nasty when all the money went in on the flop when my 9T flopped 2 pair on a 9T2 board against my openent's KK. The turn was a J but the river was an ugly 2 which meant the end for me. A real shame.
I will definitively participate in the Dutch Open in Rotterdam on October 23th.
PokerCity does a live report of all Holland Casino Series of Poker tournaments. There's a leaderboard on which I'm currently #48.
September
Last night I ended 2nd in the live forum tournament of Pokercity.nl. The tournament was held in Amsterdam and it was great fun. You can view some pictures here or you can read a compilation on this website. On Youtube is a 5 mins movie about the event.
I'm playing all events of the Euregio Poker Challenge in Valkenburg. It starts on September 17th with a €100 NLH freeze-out and a day later with a €200 NLH freeze-Out.
Saturday the 19th is day one of the €500 NLH freeze-out main event, and on Sunday there's a €200 NLH bounty.
Maybe I see you there.
August
The €440 bounty wasn't a success either. I was eliminated after 2 hours of playing. I rivered 2 pair but my opponent a straight.
August
I was knocked out of the main event quite early. With 9♦T♦ I put the rest of my chips in against A♥3♠ on a board of 4♥5♥6♥T♠. I was a 60% favorite but when the A♠ hit the river I was busted.
August
I ended 66th in the NLH €110 rebuy of the Summer Classics 2009. Although I was an almost 70% favorite unfortunately my hand K♣J♠ did not held up on a flop of A♠K♦2♠ against 5♠8♠. When I pushed all-in on the flop my opponent felt committed enough to call after which a 4♠ appeared on the turn.
August
I ended 16th in the NLH freeze-out €330 of the Summer Classics 2009 and took home €684. Not bad but I sure wished my A8 would have won from my opponents QT. If it would then I would have had a stack of around 40K, and a good change at the final table.
July
Today, July 26th, I managed to win a ticket for the main event of the Summer Classics in Utrecht so I will definitively participate on August 23rd in the €330 Hold'em, No Limit, FO; on August 26th in the €110 rebuy Hold'em; and on the 28th of August in the main event.
July
Rob Hartemink has created another YouTube movie with music from my song "Travel" from the "Slices of Time" cd.
You can watch it too on YouTube or download it as an FLV file so you can watch it anytime.
July
A new review of my cd "If one door closes..." is added. This time from Phil Derby / Electroambient Space.
July
I played poker at the VIP days in Venlo, The Netherlands. Unfortunately without success. The first day I got an early suck-out, and during the second day and the main event I was pretty much card-dead. A little frustrated I decided to go all-in with AQ, only to be called by someone with AK.
May
On May 29th 2009 I participated in the main event of the North Sea Poker Classics in Scheveningen, The Netherlands. I ended 5th. That's my best result, and highest cash, in a major event up to now.
April
On April 11th Ron Boots and I hosted the E-Day 2009 festival. Main act was John Dyson, supporting acts were Gert Emmens and F.D. Project. The festival was held in Theater De Enck in Oirschot, The Netherlands and the day was a big success. Thomas Broich made a video impression of the day including concert fragments and interviews with Gert Emmens, John Dyson, Ron Boots and more. You can find it at www.music-transformation.de and you can see and hear me around 6:35 in part 1.

A fan of mine, Rob Hartemink, has created a YouTube movie containing a lot of Eire photos. For the background music he choose the track "Eire" from my cd "Slices of Time". I must say that I really like it.
You can watch it too on YouTube or download it as an FLV file so you can watch it anytime.

Another review is added. This time from Sylvain Lupari from the Guts Of Darkness website. It's in French but my cd got 5 out of 6 stars.

I had not much luck during the DOM Classics. I participated in the 440 no-limit freeze-out and lost 2 essential hands. AQ vs A9 and AKs in a 3-way pot against A2o and K5o. So I ended somewhere around place 100 in a 218 players field.

December
I finished the website of Rolf Slotboom. Rolf is one of Hollands best players, and beside that a very nice guy, so it was a pleasure to design a new website for him. Do visit his website if you're into poker because the website contains a lot of interesting articles and book reviews.
November
I appear (twice, around 1:08 and 1:12) in the promo leader for the 2009 poker 'DOM Classics' championships.
October
I've added an rss feed feed to my website (see right top). Subscribe to it and you will be informed automatically when something changes.

I decided to offer two free downloads for the people that buy my new cd "If One Door Closes" from Groove Unlimited.
The first track is an alternate version of the track "The Sun Shines, The World Smiles". It has a complete different beginning. Track 2 is a highly energetic, live version of "Surfacing from Beyond". It was performed by James Clent and me in Essen, Germany on January 26 1998.

I'm the god of hellfire and I bring you... Who doesn't know these words from the song FIRE of Arthur Brown? Well, yesterday, during our yearly E-Live festival, I met Arthur. A very nice man with still a great voice.
October
It's now October 10th and I've just opened my new website. There's still some work to be done but 95% is finished and at least I can get some feedback from the visitors.
What's NOT complete (yet), is the On stage webpage. We're still searching for old photos and stories. The rest of the website should be ok. However if you do find errors I would appreciate it if you would let me know through Contact Kees. Thanks for reading!
September
My new cd If One Door Closes is finished. The music was already finished but I wanted to add several effects to make the complete cd 'flow' like a total. I'm very content with the end result.
August
I've participated in the poker tournament SUMMER CLASSICS in Holland Casino, Utrecht. I didn't end up in the money but I did reach the bubble once. Courtesy of pokercity.nl there's a short movie about the event in which you can also see me (0:18, 0:38 and 0:42).

Ron Boots and I travelled to Vienna to discuss with Edgar Froese and his wife Bianca a performance on E-Day 2008. It was a very pleasant meeting and we think it will work out. We're extremely proud of this as Tangerine Dream is the top of the line for us.

Sad news. We have to stop with E-dition magazine. On the one hand I'm glad because it took so much time of my time, but on the other hand I'm very sad that there's no market for it.
Oh well, we tried. And we have 16 magazines with 16 unique cds as a legacy.

I've given a lot of my archive music (tapes and cassettes) to Ron Boots. He will check if it contains music that's suited for release.
July
I composed a complete new solo track called 'Branch Hopping'. It's for the sampler Analogy vol.2 which will be released in September. Beside this track I'm also working on some other new songs. Your track on ANALOGY v.2 is a wonderful piece of music. It has a nice melody to it with a great mixture of analog sounds! Thanks for sharing that piece of music! (Craig Padilla)

June
Together with Harold van der Heijden and Ron Boots I did some live performances on June 11 en 12th during the Fanta Magic Festival in Nieuwegein in The Netherlands. During that weekend a special cd-r was released called Fanta Magic 2005. The cd-r contains 2 live versions of released tracks but also 5 new tracks, all music from Ron Boots. Photo by: Jaska Aerts

After many years I finally composed a complete new song! It's called 'Grey Keys' and it's a track for the upcoming sampler CD Analogy vol.1. The track is made with a few analog synths because that's the 'theme' of the compilation. Here's a reaction: The track is really a smooth cool ride. It has a great groove that I want to float on forever. Really good minimalism is about balancing weaving new elements into the steady hypnotic ones and you've done that here very nicely. The drums were very well done... somewhere between Jarre accessibile tones and Schulzian organic rhythm qualities... and I am notoriously hard to please when it comes to drum machines in EM. I enjoy the counterpoint / polyrhythms in the bubbling sequence.
Well done! (Paul Ellis)
February
I did an interview with Karl Bartos (ex-Kraftwerk) for E-dition Magazine. It was great to meet an ex-member of one of my favorite bands. Karl is a very nice guy and we talked for hours about everything and nothing. Photo by: Menno Von Brucken Fock

I've been very busy with a new magazine that we're gonna start. The name of the magazine is E-dition and it's the follow-up to the Dutch KLEM magazine. Every E-dition magazine comes with a free CD. Here's a photo with some of the writers. From Left to Right: Ron Boots, Wouter Bessels, Luuk Molenaar, Menno Von Brucken Fock, Paul Rijkens, Andre de Waal, Kees Aerts.
Ron Boots found an unreleased track from me and persuaded me to put it on the cd. The title of the song is 'Undelivered Delivery' and I guess it's one the last pre-midi songs that I made. The equipment used on the track is: MC-202 (2x). Korg Monopoly, Boss effect, TR-808, TB-303 and Realistic.
June
Ron and I composed a new song for an upcoming sampler. And I made a serie of jingles for the US radio program 'Sound Explorer' of Wade Gordon.

Ron and I have composed two new songs. The first one is called 'Cool Runnings' and will appear on the Schallwende #4 sampler of July 2002. The second track is for the 2-cd that comes with Sequences #27 magazine of September 2002. Here are some reviews from German listeners: Was für ein Opener! (Will Lücken)
January
My first solo album Slices of Time is remastered by Ron Boots and re-released. The annoying mistakes on the cover are also corrected. The remastered CD print is black instead of red, and the inlaycard contains the text 'remastered in 2002'.
